Ha…thats funny…I can’t believe people are so naive to think that acai berry is a cure for the swine flu.
I agree because of the antioxidants in it, it may help in not getting the flu but as cure, cmon.

Um, no.

Acai is pronounced “Ah-sigh-EE” with the stress on the EE at the end.

It is the lazy English-speakers slang to drop that ee because it doesn’t make sense to us, but in Portuguese that is a typical, normal vowel sound that they use in many words… (And in Brazil, where Acai comes from, everyone speaks Portuguese.)

Is anyone actually researching the actual ACAI Berry found in the amazon that is picked and used off the actual tree that looks like a ‘palm’ tree. It is a food, nothing more. It is the highest antioxidant and has the highest ORAC rating around 1300-1500. That score is Before people take it and have the berry imported here to the US and like any other fruit or vegetable it loses its value. The MonaVie corporation has a patent on a freeze dried process that maintains its ORAC rating so it loses nothing in value or next to nothing of its value. If you are going to put information out for all to see, I suggest a thorough investigation of the berry itself and make sure All information is posted so as not to keep people from using a beneficial product that actually uses the product as a food mixed w/a combination of many other beneficial fruits/berries. One product that is even FDA approved. Yes, Opra and Dr Oz have talked highly about the Acai berry itself, not specific products. It is not a weight loss supplement or any other type of supplement. It is not a supplement at all. It is merely a berry from the Amazon that has amazing benefits when used as the food it is. It has been found to affect the aging process. I am just concerned the way the Acai Berry is being put out there on the internet or other ‘informational’ services as a ’scam’. The Acai Berry in and of itself is Not a ’scam’. The Scam is the way some companies are promoting it in their product. Majority of products promoting the Acai Berry is mixing i with water. This is wrong. The Acai Berry has been researched by many Doctors, Researchers, Clinical Research Doctors, etc. Please post information correctly and do not hurt those that use and promote it correctly and do not make any medical claims with the Acai berry. MonaVie does have a version that is now FDA approved in addition to the regular Food drink flavors one without glucosamine and one with glucosamine. I am not sure why good reporting has no gone to monavie.com to find out more about the Acai Berry itsellf and what it is before going and destroying the Acai berry reputation. Please do 100% research before posting information that confuses people about a specific fruit, berry, vegetable that could be very beneficial and helpful to them as well as healthy for them. Thank you.

Just because acai kills cancer cells in a dish does not mean it will effectively kill them in the body. As a student of nutritional science, this is one of the first things we are taught. The body is complex, and a lot goes on between consuming a food, and its active ingredients getting to the cancer. Is it exciting? Yes. And it does mean more research is needed to determine a dose that may have a significant benefit without adverse side effects. So you can’t go yelling from the mountain tops every time something kills a cancer cell in a dish.

There is a great feature on the acai berry with a lot of the research, clinicals, etc. right now at http://www.RealHealthAnswers.com Their ’science corner’ article has some great graphs from the lab testing and comparison on the acai berry.
